Brighid’s Mantle
Let me enfold you In my mantle of light, As I did the Divine Child At the hour of His birth. I will sing to you softly A sweet lullaby, And rock you to peace In the deep flowing ocean. I will embrace you, And keep your heart warm, In my emerald cloak Of the sweet green earth. My love will protect you With a girdle of light, As you sail the dark waters On the long journey home. See the light that is burning There on the headland, The beacon of welcome, To guide you safe home. Take my hand, step ashore On the island of dreams, Tread the path of my footprints Shining white with the snowdrop. Your companions await you With love, song and laughter.
