Julie Darling is a Celtic harper, poet, artist and retreat leader, who works with the ‘music of the land’.
'Spiritual Harp' is the term that Julie has created to describe her work, where she creates spaces for profound spiritual connection, using the arts of sacred musicianship and the spoken word. Julie offers contemplative days and retreats, where her intention is to create a deep experience of peace and connection to The Great Mystery - however we choose to name it. Her work follows in the traditions of Celtic bards and seers, whose purpose was to create music, poetry and story to act as a bridge between the inner and outer worlds. Julie's current approach is the result of over thirty years of working with her harp as spiritual practice , creating intuitive music in the natural world - by the sea, in forests, on mountains and in caves deep in the earth. Julie's harp compositions, poetry and art also draw on ancient teachings, prayers and blessings of the Celtic world, as well as the lives of her Shetland crofter ancestors and other wisdom teachings from around the world. |
