Celtic legend speaks of a magical harp which played the seasons into being - of music as the sound of creation. Our Celtic ancestors also taught that when you go out into nature, with sacred intent to make music you are not creating something new. You are playing, or singing, what is already there.
There is sacred poetry in this concept of the living world. Modern science too, shows how all life is in vibration, and where there is vibration there is sound - even if the frequency of that sound is beyond the range of human hearing.
So much of my work is inspired by ancient poetic wisdom of what it means to live as one with nature. Here is my latest offering of music, words and images from the Dene, to celebrate the season of spring turning into summer. Sitting underneath the oak tree in my garden, I played my harp and heard the singing birds celebrating with me. At dawn I walked among the greening birch woods and watched bright coins of sunlight playing on the leaves. I hope you can take time out here, to enjoy a space of peace in the green world. Listen with headphones if you can, to the video below.
