Health:
Iona is a remote Scottish island, with no doctor, pharmacy or other medical facilities. Being on Iona does involve a degree of walking, as no visitor cars are permitted on the island. It obviously makes sense to be sure that you are in good health before you come, so that you can enjoy your stay and all that this retreat offers you. Please also make sure that if you require regular medication that you have enough with you for the duration of your stay.
Covid: Since the pandemic, we do our best to address any potential concerns about Covid in the way we arrange our retreats. Obviously, we are now in a very different place to where we were three years ago, but there are still many different views on how best to live with the presence of Covid. We hope that you will feel that our approach is respectful of everyone's needs.
While many people now have very few concerns about Covid, we do have people in the community who have health conditions that make them particularly vulnerable to infection. So we would ask any participant to be mindful that there may be others attending the retreat who have health issues, and to make sure that you are in good health before you come to the retreat - or as far as that is possible for any of us to be sure! If you are travelling by public transport, and likely to be in crowded stations of airports, you may like to keep this in mind.
Hand sanitiser will be available in our meeting room for your use.
If you become unwell during the course of the weekend, please let Julie know as soon as you can by sending a text (a mobile number will be provided to course participants.) There will be a small supply of Lateral Flow tests available, but ideally you can choose to bring your own in case you need it. It will be helpful for the group to know if symptoms are Covid-related or not.
